Transfer VHS to DVD or other formats so you can enjoy them anytime, anywhere on any device.
NOTE: We transfer the following:
VHS, Beta, Betacam SP, VHS-C, 8mm (all variations), 3/4 inch U-Matic, DVCPro, MiniDV, MicroMV, S-VHS, DVCAM, MinDVD and Laser Discs.
VHS (Video Home System) was made for home use by the Victor Company of Japan back in the mid-70s.
The "Beta vs. VHS' wars heated up by the 80s but it was the VHS format that would eventually win out. Cheaper was better for people and Sony's units were just too pricy for the consumers.
As time went by, there'd be improved versions of the VHS format including the
Super-VHS (a/k/a S-VHS), which had better resolution (400 lines) vs. the original VHS [and Beta] at 250).
Those videotapes won't last forever. We can't stress to you the importance of getting them digitized as soon as possible or else they may not have much left on them to see or hear.
VHS tapes, like all videotapes, will degrade over time. It doesn't matter how well you take care of them, time is not on your side. As time goes by, those images just disappear. Signs of degradation include static on the screen, colors being lost, audio being affected, the particles that make up the visuals on your tape just degrading causing all kinds of issues including... no more video!
There are so many variables that can degrade your tapes. It's just the nature of the product. How you've kept them, how many times they've been played (or not played), how old they are, how dirty they are and other factors come into play that has a negative impact on how much is left on those tapes for you to see and hear.
The sooner you get them transferred the better chance you'll have of preserving the memories on those tapes. If you have your wedding, children's graduations, family gatherings from years gone by on tape, the last thing you want is to have them disappear.
We can transfer those VHS, Beta, 8mm tapes and other videotapes to a variety of digital formats including DVD, a hard drive, a USB jump drive or a video file for you to download so they'll last forever.
